Trust & Safety
SayGo takes abuse seriously. Here's how we keep the platform honest.
Real people, on camera
Everyone confirms they're 18 or over (accounts also confirm their email address), and you can only be matched while your face is on camera. Guests chat with the safety filter on; accounts can also enter the Unmoderated Lounge, or turn the filter off in a chat when both people agree. Bans land on the account, the device and the network, so a guest can be banned too. Verifying with a government ID and a liveness selfie (handled by Didit) is needed to receive gifts and add friends, and anyone it shows to be under 18 is suspended. To stop one person holding several verified accounts, the verification selfie is compared against previously verified faces by face-recognition software on our own servers (see the Privacy Policy for what is retained), and, where the check is enabled, verified users are matched to their ID at the start of every chat.
Report and block
Anyone can be reported in one tap. In moderated chats, every report and every skip saves the last 5 seconds of the other person's video (never audio) and a still frame to private storage, and our AI filter checks each one. A moderator reviews them and decides every ban; nobody is banned just because of how many reports they got. Clips from skips with nothing wrong in them are deleted after 7 days. Blocked users will never match you again.
A ban shows its screenshot first every time you visit, on your account, your device and your network, until you pay $50 to remove it. Violence, harassment and anything involving a minor can't be paid off.
Moderated mode
In Moderated Mode, a classifier in your browser samples the other person's video every few seconds. When it suspects explicit content, a still frame of the other person's video is sent to our server and to AWS Rekognition for an automated verdict — so detection is not purely on-device. Frames are not stored, only the verdict. Repeat or confirmed flags auto-skip and auto-report.
Your IP address in Moderated Mode: the video call is peer-to-peer, which means the other participant's browser connects directly to yours and can see your public IP address (as with any direct WebRTC call). Use a VPN if that matters to you.
Unmoderated lounge
The lounge is opt-in and separated from the default pool. The content filter is off, but everything else still applies: abuse, illegal content, and minors are forbidden, reports work, bans work, moderators may view live video (never audio, every view logged), and we fully cooperate with law enforcement.
Because strangers in the lounge should not learn each other's network location, lounge calls are relayed through our TURN servers rather than connected directly, so the other participant does not see your IP address. The relay forwards encrypted media and does not record it.
Community rules
- Be a person. No impersonation.
